ABOUT CARLOS
Carlos Diaz is an award-nominated, bilingual voice actor, director, writer, and acting coach with over 25 years of experience in voiceover animation, commercial voiceover, film, radio, television, video games and theatre. He is based in Toronto, Ontario, and is a proud member of ACTRA and SAG-AFTRA.
His work has contributed to three Gemini Award nominations for Best Ensemble (2006-2009) from the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television and an ACTRA Award nomination for Outstanding Performance – Voice in Justin Time (2014). He was also the recipient of the first-ever Rolling Rock Best Actor Award and was nominated as one of the 10 Most Influential Hispanic Canadians in 2010 for his humanitarian work with Habitat for Humanity Chile.
Carlos also casts, directs and translates English/Spanish projects. His sharp comedic instincts, remarkable vocal range, and ability to bring depth to both high-energy cartoon characters and nuanced roles make him a sought-after talent in the industry.
Beyond acting, Carlos is an experienced writer and voice director. As a director he is known for guiding performances in commercials, animation, and video games in his unique style. He also works as a private voiceover coach and demo director privately and with KH Casting, helping voice actors refine their craft, tackle challenging auditions, and showcase their strengths.
Outside of work Carlos enjoys writing, martial arts, guiding his own daughter's acting career, and contributing to community theatre company, IT Productions as an active Board Director.
